Google has improved search in Google Drive by integrating Gemini's artificial intelligence. Gemini will now preview the contents of a Drive folders (if you allow it) and provide information about the files in each folder right at the top of the folder viewer. This means that in search results, you'll see a single folder with an explanation instead of multiple files within it. In theory, this will save your time. There will also be an "Explore with Gemini" option to ask clarifying questions about the folder content. This helpful update is only available to paid Google Workspace users or those with a Gemini Plus or Pro subscription.

American tech giants appear to be forming some sort of cartel in the field of artificial intelligence. Microsoft and Nvidia agreed will invest $15 billion in Anthropic, arguably OpenAI's main competitor. Under the agreement, Anthropic committed to purchasing $30 billion worth of Microsoft Azure cloud computing capacity (powered by NVidia graphics cards). Microsoft will integrate Anthropic's AI models into its own IT products and online services, alongside OpenAI's models. Thus, OpenAI's recent alliance with Nvidia is not a play against Microsoft, but rather part of a group deal. One might assume they're teaming up against Google, but a month ago, Anthropic also signed a major agreement with Google, which includes the supply of up to 1 million specialized AI chips. Now it's time for the deal between OpenAI and Google to complete the circle.

Google has unveiled its own IDE code editor, Google Antigravity. It's essentially a VS Code clone with a built-in Gemini 3 model. Thus, Google will compete with Cursor and the standard VS Code. However, Antigravity's advantage is its very generous free LLM usage limits, which are updated every five hours. In addition to chat for vibe coding and AI code completion, Antigravity allows you to create AI agents that independently create applications or classes, test them and deliver the finished product with a development plan, report and screenshots.

Google has released a new version of its LLM model, Gemini 3, which is now available through a mobile app and search engine. According to its creators, it is a contender for the title of the most powerful AI model on the market today. This is despite the release of the new version of OpenAI GPT 5.1 a week ago and the release of Anthropic Sonnet 4.5 two months ago. They particularly advertise its reasoning ability, which is demonstrated in independent benchmarks. With a score of 37.4, the model achieved the highest result in Humanity's Last Exam, a benchmark designed to assess general skills and knowledge. The previous record, set by GPT-5 Pro, was 31.64. Gemini 3 also topped the LMArena rankings, a benchmark developed with human input and measuring user satisfaction. In addition to the basic model, Google also released the Google Antigravity system, which allows the creation of AI coding agents compatible with IDEs such as Warp or Cursor 2.0.

The deal makes PayPal the first payment service integrated into ChatGPT and is part of OpenAI's strategy to develop AI-powered e-commerce. The company hopes that users will be able to search and purchase products through the chatbot, much like a personal assistant.

Microsoft has added support for all desktop extensions to its mobile Edge browser. This feature is unique among major browser developers – even Google hasn't yet realised it. Mobile Edge for Android and iOS already supported extensions, but only those created specifically for it (not for the desktop version). For now desktop add-ons currently only available on Android. To make it easier to find the extension you need in Edge for smartphones, you'll need to enable the search bar – it's disabled by default. Type Edge://flags in the address bar and go to that page. There, you'll need to manually enable the Android Extension Search flag, then restart the browser.

OpenAI has unveiled its own AI-powered browser ChatGPT Atlas, which aims to compete with Google Chrome (which has over 3 billion users worldwide). How can it win? ChatGPT Atlas users can interact with search results, similar to Perplexity. The built-in chatbot resides in the sidebar and takes into account the context of what's displayed on the screen, as well as your recent browsing history. Using "agent mode," users can ask ChatGPT to perform small tasks in the browser on their behalf (this feature is available only to paid users). But the main advantage is that having a separate application for ChatGPT on your computer is convenient. That's why many have already installed the ChatGPT desktop client. Apparently, after some time, the company will merge it with the browser and then Chrome (and Google search) will have problems, since ChatGPT uses Microsoft's Bing search engine by default.

Video conferencing service Google Meet finally has added an AI-powered makeup filter for those days when you don't feel like applying real makeup before a meeting. The new feature will help it compete with other video conferencing platforms that already support virtual makeup, including Microsoft Teams and Zoom. Google Meet offers 12 different makeup options to choose from. Google claims the virtual makeup will stay in place regardless of the user's movements on the screen. So, if the user takes a sip of coffee, the filter will stay on their face, not move to their mug.
